Job summary

Island View Casino Resort in Gulfport is seeking a Prep Cook to support the kitchen by preparing food prior to the cooking stage for our restaurants.

You will measure, portion, and prepare all food items, and ensure compliance with portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures. Basic prep cooking such as baking, frying, sautéing and steaming is required. At least 1 year of culinary experience preferred; must be 18+ with a valid Driver License or state ID.

Responsibilities

• Properly measures, portions, and prepares all food items.
• Complies with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures.
• Basic prep cooking such as baking, frying, sautéing and steaming associated with food prep, etc.

Qualifications

• Must have a demonstrated ability to operate most commercial kitchen equipment, have knowledge of quality food, food preparation, food preservation, be able produce food orders in a commercial or professional kitchen.
• Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid Driver License or State issued ID.
• At least 1 year of culinary experience preferred.
