Job summary

AdventHealth Mills Park Surgery Center in Orlando, FL is seeking a PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse to deliver continuous nursing care across the perioperative spectrum. You will assess patients before discharge, monitor recovery from anesthesia, and support the care team with sterile technique as needed.

The role requires an active Florida RN license, BLS/ACLS, and preferred PACU or critical care experience. Join a team focused on patient safety and quality outcomes in a de novo outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in Florida.
• BLS and ACLS certification; PALS if required by center.
• 2 years of PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Ability to make nursing judgments and prioritize workload.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients.
• Monitor patient condition, ensuring safety, comfort and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation using sterile techniques.
• Deliver total care to patients emerging from anesthesia and participate in discharge planning.

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
