Job Title: Preop Recovery Registered Nurse (Full-Time)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pre-Op/Recovery RN to join our team at our state-of-the-art multispecialty ambulatory surgery center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality patient care in both the pre-operative and post-anesthesia recovery phases. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset to ensure optimal patient outcomes across a variety of surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pre-operative assessments and patient education
• Initiate IV therapy, administer medications, and monitor vital signs
• Prepare patients for surgery in coordination with the surgical and anesthesia teams
• Provide Phase I and Phase II PACU care, including pain management and discharge readiness
• Monitor for complications and respond to emergencies according to ACLS/PALS protocols
• Accurately document patient information
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff
• Ensure adherence to infection control and safety procedures
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and compliance standards
  
  

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Michigan
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Pre-Op, PACU, or critical care preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS required (PALS preferred or willingness to obtain)
• Experience in an ambulatory surgery or hospital setting strongly preferred
• Strong critical thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
