Job summary

Vail Health Hospital in Colorado is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals and families. You will collaborate with providers and the care team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes and to support our mountain community.

Responsibilities include triaging requests, guiding patients through plans of care, administering medications, and coordinating with other practices to optimize patient flow.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Colorado or a valid compact state.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• Associate Nursing Degree or higher for hires after 07/01/2018.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily patient flow to optimize care, safety and satisfaction.
• Triages incoming patient service requests.
• Delivers patient education to support care plans.
• Delegates care per Colorado statute and supervises accordingly.
• Assesses patients with critical thinking and prioritization.
• Handles high telephone volume for meds, info and assistance.
• Administers medications and assists in procedures per safety guidelines.
• Coordinates care with providers and other practices to maximize outcomes.
• Works independently with minimal supervision.

About the opportunity

This position assumes responsibility and accountability for providing nursing care for patients and their families. Assure expert, compassionate, individualized nursing care for patients and families is expected. They collaborate with providers, staff and other members of the team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

What you will do

1. Oversees the daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety and satisfaction.
2. Demonstrates ability to triage incoming patient requests for services.
3. Delivers patient education to facilitate plan of care, employer informed healthcare choices, and promote optimal wellness.
4. Demonstrates ability to delegate care appropriately and according to Colorado statute.
5. Demonstrates competent healthcare assessment skills, prioritizing skills and critical thinking skills.
6. Demonstrates ability to handle high telephone volume of patient requests for medications, information and assistance.
7. Administers medications, performs treatments, and assists in procedures as needed; consistently adhering to patient safety guidelines.
8. Coordinates patient care with other physician practices, Vail Health and others as needed to achieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction.
9. Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
10. Delivers excellent service by utilizing Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients and families.
11. Role models the principals of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
12. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

What you will need

Experience

• One-year clinical experience required.

License(s)

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required.

Certification(s)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.

Computer / Typing

• Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

Education

• Minimum of Associate Nursing Degree for positions hired after 07/01/2018.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.

Hourly Pay: $37.90 — $60.45 USD
