Howard Head Sports Medicine in Vail, CO is hiring a PreOp/PACU RN for the Vail Valley Surgery Center. This is a full-time, year-round position with daytime shifts and an hourly pay range of $37.90–$60.45 USD.

The RN provides nursing care, triage, patient education, medication administration, and coordinates care with physicians and staff to achieve optimal outcomes. Colorado RN license (or compact state), BLS, ACLS, PALS, and 1 year of clinical experience required.

Qualifications

• One-year clinical experience required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum of Associate Nursing Degree (for hires after 07/01/2018).
• Must possess English language skills and basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily patient flow to optimize care, safety and satisfaction.
• Triages incoming patient requests for services.
• Delivers patient education to support plan of care and informed choices.
• Delegates care appropriately per Colorado statute.
• Demonstrates competent assessment, prioritization and critical thinking.
• Handles high telephone volume for medication information and assistance.
• Administers medications and assists in procedures with patient safety in mind.
• Coordinates patient care with physicians, Vail Health, and other staff.
• Works independently with minimal supervision.
• Delivers service using Relationship-Based Care and patient preferences.
• Models Just Culture and organizational values.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains HIPAA compliance.
