  • This is for a Full Time PreOp/ PACU RN shift.
  • Sign-on bonus eligible, up to $10k.

The PreOp/PACU RN is responsible for planning, directing, organizing, coordinating, and implementing all nursing care services for post-surgical patients in a manner consistent with our mission statement.

Nurses work in a post-anesthesia care unit (formerly known as the recovery room), where patients are cared for and monitored as they recover from anesthesia.

The nurse's responsibilities include all aspects of patient care prior to and following surgery, including monitoring vital signs and managing pain and nausea.

Additionally, they are responsible for:

  • Admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
  • Completing ongoing patient assessments and documentation according to policy.
  • Performing nursing assessments within 2 hours of admission, reviewing database and nutrition screen.
  • Participating in developing the patient care plan.
  • Reporting significant changes in patient condition immediately.
  • Coordinating discharge planning and readiness.
  • Applying age-specific standards in care.
  • Demonstrating proficient IV skills.
  • Administering medications following age-specific standards.

Required Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
  • Current GA Nursing License.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Pre-Op/PACU.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient management.
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques.
  • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics.
