Job summary

SurgCenter of Camelback is seeking a PREOP/PACU Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality care to patients before and after anesthesia. You will monitor patient status, assist in procedure rooms with sedation and sterile technique, and coordinate care from admission through discharge under physician supervision.

The role requires active AZ RN licensure, BLS/ACLS (PALS as needed), and 2+ years PACU or critical care experience. Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current AZ Nursing License.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. Required Skills:

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current AZ Nursing License
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Pre-Op/PACU. Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
• Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
• Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Excellent teaching skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior
