Job summary

HCA Healthcare Kansas City Surgery Center invites you to join as a Perioperative Nurse in our ambulatory surgery setting. You will plan, execute, and evaluate nursing care preoperatively and postoperatively until discharge.

You will perform patient assessments, administer pre-operative meds and IV therapy, ensure equipment readiness, and monitor dressings, discharge criteria, and safety throughout the perioperative period.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing required.
• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably PACU/ICU or Surgery.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BCLS Certification upon employment; online certification not acceptable.
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire; PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare your patients’ care area adequately before case.
• Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for your patients’ procedure.
• Conduct complete physical and psychological assessment and evaluation of patients’ history and tests.
• Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed.
• Maintain proper technique for IV catheters and saline locks.
• Check dressings and/or operative site and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Join our team as a Perioperative Nurse in our ambulatory surgery center. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care rendered preoperatively and postoperatively until your patients are discharged. What you will do in this role:

• Check dressings and/or operative site of your patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon

• Ensure your patients meet discharge criteria

Qualifications you will need:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required

• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery

• Active RN license as required by state of employment
