Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitors equipment inventory and ensures staff have tools needed to perform duties
• Plans staffing during shortages or surges to maintain safe patient care
• Directs daily unit operations and assigns patient care tasks on assigned shift
• Rounds with physicians and surgeons to coordinate care and patient flow
• Manages bed flow, discharge planning, and scheduling in collaboration with care managers
• Promotes evidence-based practice and participates in governance activities
• Mentors and precepts other nurses and staff to build clinical skills
