Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Prenatal Education Instructor to lead prenatal classes both virtually and in-person in Pennsylvania. The role focuses on lactation support, engaging diverse populations, and maintaining a high-quality learning environment.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, managing class logistics, documenting attendance, and coordinating with the Prenatal Education Programs team to improve program effectiveness. Prior teaching and nursing credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold IBCLC, Certified Lactation Counselor, or PA Licensed Practical Nurse license.
• Experience in labor and delivery, newborn and postpartum care preferred.
• Certified childbirth educator with breastfeeding support knowledge a plus.
• Experience in obstetrical/pediatric settings preferred.
• Ability to engage and maintain constructive relationships with diverse populations.

• Teach prenatal classes as scheduled, virtually and/or in person.
• Secure and maintain materials and equipment for classroom use.
• Set up classroom and online materials before class; restock after.
• Document class attendance and collect fees if necessary.
• Collaborate with Coordinator and educators to evaluate services.

Licensed Practical Nurse (PA) OR IBCLC/CLC credential

Job description

• Serves as instructor for prenatal classes and support groups as scheduled
• Secures and maintains appropriate materials and equipment for utilization in classroom environment
• Assures materials are available and promptly returns materials and equipment to the appropriate department
• Teaches prenatal classes as assigned; either virtually and/or in person
• Sets up classroom and online materials in advance of class start time and cleans up and restocks supplies at the end of class time
• Maintains detailed documentation of class attendance and collects class fees, if necessary
• Shares observations and improvement ideas for classes and programs with Coordinator, Prenatal Education Programs
• Participates in the periodic review of program materials and overall program effectiveness
• Collaborates with the Prenatal Education Coordinator and other educators to evaluate services offered

Requirements

• IBCLC, Certified Lactation Counselor, or Licensed Practical Nurse with current license to practice in the state of Pennsylvania
• Experience in labor and delivery, newborn and postpartum care preferred
• Certified childbirth educator with demonstrated experience and knowledge of breastfeeding support a plus
• Experience in working in an obstetrical and/or pediatric setting preferred
• Ability to engage and maintain constructive relationship with diverse populations
