Arbour Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Associate to maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu and assist with patient care in a psychiatric setting. You will collaborate with nursing and other staff to support patient needs and safety.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, age-appropriate care and strong communication across a diverse patient population, with schedule coverage including evenings through Monday. A compassionate, attentive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• College students pursuing behavioral health, psychology or human services are preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Impeccable judgment and professionalism required.
• Ability to maintain composure in crisis situations.

Schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday

Position Summary:

The Mental Health Associate (MHA) is responsible of maintaining the overall milieu management and safety of patient and staff in the unit and collaborating effectively with Unit Nurse Managers (UNMs), Registered Nurse (RNs) and Mental Health Associates (MHAs).

At Arbour Hospital, we work diligently and compassionately to provide patients and their families with high-quality care and service excellence across a continuum of specialized behavioral health services. We have proudly served the residents of the greater Boston area since 1909. Our medical staff consists of psychiatrists who average 20 years of practice at our facility, providing a solid and trusted foundation for our patient-focused approach to behavioral healthcare. We are an important community resource for a wide range of vital behavioral healthcare services. We treat primary psychiatric and substance abuse disorders and constantly strive to meet the needs of our communities with treatment that address individualized behavioral health needs. We stand ready to provide compassionate care through inpatient treatment and a strong continuum of aftercare services, community-based programs, and day treatment.
