Job summary

Equinox in San Ramon seeks a Swim Group Fitness Instructor to lead engaging lap swim-based classes on a part-time basis. The role requires a strong background in swim group fitness instruction, a focus on safety, and the ability to motivate members of all fitness levels.

Availability should include multiple dayparts during the week and at least two classes per week. The instructor will supervise classes, modify progressions, and collaborate with the Group Fitness Manager to uphold programming

Qualifications

• Certified Group Fitness Instructor (ACE, AFAA, or equivalent).
• Aqua-specific certification (AEA, SCW, Masters, USAT or equivalent) preferred.
• CPR/AED certification (required or willing to obtain).
• Previous experience teaching aqua or water fitness classes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, high-energy lap swim classes.
• Teach a minimum of two weekly classes.
• Provide modifications and progressions as needed.
• Engage with members before and after class to build community.
• Ensure a safe environment through proper supervision and use of equipment.
• Collaborate with the Group Fitness Manager to maintain programming excellence.
