Job summary

The Woodcreek Club seeks an experienced Equipment Manager / Head Mechanic to lead maintenance for the club’s turf fleet. This role emphasizes preventive maintenance, repairs, and quality control to ensure premium course conditions.

You will work with the Superintendent and agronomy team, managing inventory, budgets, and training while maintaining safety and environmental standards on-site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in small engines, diesel, hydraulics preferred.
• 3+ years of golf course turf equipment maintenance and repair experience preferred; other related fields considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel system issues on gas, diesel, and 2-cycle equipment.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety inspections, pre-use checks, and equipment calibrations for precision performance.
• Monitor course conditions and cut quality; coordinate with Superintendent/Director of Agronomy.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records in CMMS and other systems.
• Manage parts inventory and source cost-effective options; keep storage organized.
• Ensure shop and fuel station areas are clean and compliant with OSHA/EPA guidelines.
• Train and supervise maintenance staff on safe operation and basic care.
• Assist with equipment budgeting, purchasing recommendations, and long-term fleet planning.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize downtime and disruptions.
• Operate equipment on-course during peak periods or for test repairs.
