Join us as a Premium Bartender at Penn State University Athletics with Oak View Group.

Role Overview:

The Bartender is responsible for serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be personable, professional, and adaptable. Availability for scheduled events is required.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly rate: $17 - $18 plus tips. Benefits include a 401(k) savings plan and matching. Applications are accepted continuously; there is no deadline.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide excellent guest service and maintain professional interactions.
2. Follow pre-shift notes and bar menus to serve beverages accordingly.
3. Serve alcohol responsibly, adhering to all regulations and verifying guest IDs.
4. Upsell products and suggest varieties of beer, wine, and spirits.
5. De-escalate intoxicated or confrontational guests and involve security or management when needed.
6. Accurately handle cash and manage issued bank at the bar.
7. Maintain a clean and sanitary work station, ensuring equipment is well-maintained.
8. Assist with setup, breakdown, and organization of bar equipment and coolers.

Qualifications:

• Minimum six months bartending experience.
• Strong cash handling skills.
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and long hours.
• Bartending school certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand and walk extensively, lift up to 50 pounds, and have good vision for focus and peripheral awareness.
