Job description

Blue Slide Strategies is seeking a skilled Premium Auditor to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Premium Auditor, you will be responsible for conducting audits on insurance policies to ensure accurate premium charges and advocate on behalf of our clients.

You will review policyholder records, evaluate financial data, and verify that the classifications and exposures align with the policies in place, including previous years insurance policies. Your expertise will help minimize risk, ensure compliance, and optimize our client’s insurance programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct audits on commercial insurance policies, including General Liability, Workers' Compensation to ensure accurate premium calculations.
  • Review and analyze financial statements, payroll records, and other business documents to determine appropriate exposures and classifications.
  • Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and underwriters to obtain necessary information for accurate audits.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings, including identifying discrepancies or areas requiring adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Provide recommendations to improve policyholder documentation and classification accuracy.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry practices
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in insurance premium auditing or a related role.
  • Strong analytical and financial analysis skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • APA or other relevant insurance designations.
  • Experience working with various industries and classifications.
