Job summary

ICW Group, headquartered in San Diego, seeks a Premium Audit Leader to supervise internal audit processing and develop a high-performing team. This role directs cross-functional work with Finance, Underwriting, and IT, ensuring data quality and regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Supervises all internal audit processing activities, both technical and clerical.

  • Monitors and plans for work flow peaks and departmental time tables.
  • Coordinates internal audit processes with field activities and works closely with field management team to ensure results.
  • Monitors Departmental goals and takes steps to meet them.

Operates as the Premium Audit department leader.

  • Acts as the liaison with other company departments (Premium Accounting, claims, Unit Stat, IT, and Underwriting) and corresponds with Insureds/Agents/Underwriting.
  • Compiles and distributes reports to Finance and Underwriting.
  • Works with IT on new systems and automation as needed to be more efficient.

Performs departmental staffing and personnel duties.

  • Assists Department head as needed.
  • Helps to develop skills and career planning of team members.
  • Provides basic training to other departments.
  • Develops new procedures and training as needed.

Develops and supervises a team of Premium Auditors.

  • Provides daily direction to Premium Audit team. Communicates Mission, Values and other organization operating principles to direct reports.
  • Establishes and maintains the overall work cadence and, in partnership with Manager, ensures performance and outcomes strive for excellence in delivery and customer experience. Ensures that the entire team is engaged and that leadership practices encourage development, recognition and retention.
  • Establishes and adheres to hiring criteria, on-boarding and training requirements for incoming staff.
  • Oversees the performance management and development process for the team and performs performance management duties, development planning and coaching for direct reports.
  • Acts as a resource for Premium Accounting team members to answer questions and solve complex problems.
  • Manages technology and other resources, workload and customer requests for Premium Accounting services. Ensures adherence to all Company policies and procedures and Compliance responsibilities.
  • Ensures data quality, adherence to IT security guidelines, profitability and other risk-related metrics for self and members of the team.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees within the Premium Audit team and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. These responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; conducting performance and salary reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; coaching, mentoring, and developing team members to further their skills and knowledge; creating and monitoring development plans; setting performance expectations/goals; forecasting staffing needs and planning for peak times and absences; enforcing department policies and procedures.

Education And Experience

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university required in Accounting, Business, Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 5 years of experience working with billing and billing systems, audit review, and all rules/regulations for all states.

Knowledge And Skills

Working knowledge of billing, accounts receivable, billing systems and audit review, required. Familiarity with insurance rules, regulations and laws for all states. Must have excellent communication skills. Ability to apply principles of logic to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to use technology to help assist in interpreting the data provided.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in an office environment and requires the frequent use of a computer, telephone, copier, and other standard office equipment.

The current range for this position is

$90,559.93 - $152,723.07

This range is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at ICW Group, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors unique to each candidate, including experience, education and the location of the role and considers employees performing substantially similar work.
