Job Summary

This role is responsible for performing routine and complex accounting functions to ensure accurate financial reporting and premium disbursements. The position focuses on Guaranteed Standard Issue (GSI) and individual disability insurance premium application and billing services, including payment processing, reconciliation, and customer communication. The Billing Specialist will manage transactions across multiple systems, maintain compliance documentation, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Input and reconcile premium payments in ID3 system
  • Research and process accounting transactions and adjustments
  • Manage wire transfers, cash clearing, and inter-company payments
  • Communicate with policy owners, brokers, MGAs, and internal teams
  • Maintain billing documentation and support financial reporting compliance

* This position requires availability to work a schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. PST

Skills and Background

You’ll Need Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree with advanced coursework in accounting preferred.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of medical or insurance billing. 2+ years customer service experience. Experience with general accounting principles and financial systems. Strong billing and reconciliation experience. Advanced spreadsheet and PC skills. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on a variety of factors including individual and organizational performance. The actual compensation for this role will be based on a combination of education and experience, knowledge and skills, position budget, internal equity, and market data.

Salary Range: 23.56 - 31.49
