Job Description

  1. Review electronic files received from clients to ensure thoroughness and completeness before the plate-making process.
  2. Use electronic page layout software to format print jobs according to paper dimensions.
  3. Determine page layout, considering folds, trims, bleeds, gripper, and add crop marks and color bars as needed.
  4. Identify missing or problematic components and communicate issues to the Customer Service Rep, customer, and production team.
  5. Collaborate directly with Customer Service, customers, and production personnel to resolve job issues.
  6. Load customer-supplied electronic files for output during manufacturing.
  7. Prepare color proofs for customer review, if necessary.
  8. Operate CTP plate-making equipment and bending/tabbing equipment to prepare plates for press, and impose images as needed.
  9. Perform quality checks on finished plates before releasing them to manufacturing.

Disclosure Statement

The pay range for this role at the specified location is $25.20 to $35.04 per hour. Actual pay may vary based on education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with match, life insurance, tuition assistance, parental leave, and discounts.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with graphic design and layout software on Mac and PC.
  • Understanding of digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps) across operating systems.
  • Experience with imposition software (Mac) and Adobe Creative Suite (PC) preferred.
  • Advanced color management skills and ability to work with various digital formats.
  • Ability to output digital files to different devices and learn new graphics software.
  • Understanding of offset printing processes and color interactions.
  • Mechanical skills for minor repairs and maintenance of printing equipment.
