Job summary

Primrose School at Standley Lake in Westminster, CO is seeking a caring Prekindergarten Teacher to join our team and bring joy to young learners. You will implement the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum and create a safe, inclusive classroom.

The ideal candidate has experience with Pre-K, supports diverse learners, collaborates with families and staff, and fosters social-emotional growth as students prepare for Kindergarten.

Qualifications

• Experience working with Prekindergarten-aged children.
• Experience supporting neurodivergent children and diverse learning needs.
• Understands that every child learns differently and adapts instruction accordingly.
• Creates a calm, patient, structured and nurturing classroom environment.
• Uses positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior support strategies.
• Collaborates with families, teachers, leadership and outside support professionals.
• Dependable, flexible, positive and a strong team player.
• Strong communication and classroom-management skills.
• Meets Colorado licensing requirements or is willing to complete necessary qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment while implementing the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
• Build meaningful relationships with children and families and support social-emotional and academic development.
• Prepare students for Kindergarten and support skills in emotional regulation, transitions, peer interactions, communication and independence.

• Has experience working with Prekindergarten-aged children
• Has experience supporting neurodivergent children and children with diverse learning, sensory, behavioral, or developmental needs
• Understands that every child learns and communicates differently and can adapt their approach to meet individual needs
• Can provide a calm, patient, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
• Uses positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior support strategies
• Is comfortable working collaboratively with families, classroom teachers, leadership, and outside support professionals when appropriate

• Has strong communication and classroom-management skills
• Meets Colorado licensing requirements for the position or is willing to complete necessary qualifications

What You Will Do

As a Prekindergarten Teacher, you will help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment while implementing the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum. You will build meaningful relationships with children and families, support children’s social-emotional and academic development, and help prepare our students for their next big adventure - Kindergarten!

We are especially looking for someone who understands that behavior is communication and is comfortable helping children develop skills for emotional regulation, transitions, peer interactions, communication, and independence.
