The Pre-K 3 Collaboration Teacher plays a key role in the partnership between Fort Bend ISD and BakerRipley Head Start, delivering instruction and educational support to three- and four-year-old students at collaboration campuses.In partnership with the Head Start Co-Teacher, this role involves planning lessons, managing student behavior, assessing progress, and adapting instruction to meet individual needs. The teacher will use resources from both FBISD and Head Start to support eligible children and their families.Ongoing, professional collaboration with the BakerRipley Co-Teacher is essential. Both educators are equal partners in creating a cohesive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. These responsibilities highlight a collaborative partnership between the Pre-K 3 collaboration teacher and Head Start co-teacher, ensuring a comprehensive and cohesive educational experience for young children. This partnership addresses student's intellectual, social, and physical development while adhering to regulatory standards and fostering an engaging learning environment.
Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction/Planning
- Co-plan and implement instructional strategies and activities that cater to and accommodate diverse learning styles and cognitive and physical developmental levels, using a variety of age-appropriate instructional materials and technology to enhance learning;
- Co-develop lesson plans and daily routines informed by observations and documentation of children's interests and current levels of functioning;
- Co-implement instructional programs that incorporate purposeful and developmentally appropriate playful learning experiences, considering different learning styles and a range of learning curves;
- Co-assess student abilities, maintain documentation, and continually evaluate student achievement to meet educational goals and reporting requirements;
- Use CIRCLE and other district-provided progress monitoring tools to track student development and whole group and individualized instruction;
- Maintain documentation of student progress and use data to continually evaluate achievement and meet reporting requirements.
Student Support/ Supervision- Manage learner behaviors within an instructional setting to ensure the environment is conducive to the learning process;
- Supervise students and manage student behavior during instructional and non-instructional periods throughout the school or center and intervene to control and modify disruptive behavior, reporting to the appropriate administrator as appropriate;
- Manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement;
- May delegate responsibilities to instructional assistants, parents, and student volunteers;
- Provide for the basic needs of students unable to care for themselves including, but not limited to toilet training and support with self-feeding;
- Perform housekeeping tasks, such as sanitizing student work areas and instructional materials in order to maintain a clean and orderly learning environment;
- Support or participate in school-wide student activities, social events and approved fund-raising activities;
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media based on performance-based assessment and research to meet the needs of individual students or groups.
Collaboration and Coordination- Collaborate with BakerRipley staff and other professionals to deliver Pre-K 3 Head Start instructional expectations and related activities;
- Maintain consistent, professional communication with families, both written and oral to inform them of student(s) progress;
- Engage families in understanding and supporting instructional expectations during parent meetings and weekly communication and other settings such as online conferences and school events;
- Coordinate with other professional staff to maximize learning opportunities and implement daily lesson plans;
- Work in various capacities (self-contained, team, departmental, itinerant, or fieldwork site) and seek assistance from resource personnel as needed.
Professional Development- Participate in all required/assigned FBISD and BakerRipley Head Start in-service/professional development activities and/ or staff meetings;
- Attend all required continuing education courses, and implement evidence based strategies with in class coaching support from an instructional coach, and/or assigned FBISD/BakerRipley Head Start staff.

- Bachelor's degree in education, required.
- Master's degree degree in early childhood education or early childhood special education, preferred.
- Valid Teaching Certification Issued by Texas Education Agency appropriate to subject and grade level of assignment Early Childhood Teaching Certification (Gen. Ed or Bilingual) in addition to one of the 7 options listed in this job description is required to teach prekindergarten in FBISD, per high-quality PreK components per TEC §29.167 (b) and 19 TAC §102.1003 (d), and §102.1003 (f) (4)
- Valid Bilingual Certification is needed for for the Bilingual program.
- Valid Texas ESL Certification is needed for English/ESL program.
- Texas Food Handler's Certificate obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum of 3 years Early Childhood
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships;
- Ability to collect and analyze data for instruction and program evaluation purposes;
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, in English and Spanish;
- Good knowledge of the FBISD program of students related to assignments and public-school mission, goals, and organization;
- Good knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of instructional specialty(ies) to which assigned;
- Good knowledge of early childhood growth and development.

Additional Information- This position may require travel to various campuses, district meeting sites and conferences/meetings in and out of state.
- This position may require work after normal reporting hours and weekends.
- Exposure to bodily fluids and frequent childhood, pre-teen, or teen illnesses may occur.
