Job summary

Harbor View Creative Learning Center is seeking a PREK Teacher Assistant with a qualifying letter to join our team. You will support the lead teacher with engaging activities for 4–5 year olds and help create a welcoming, safe classroom environment.

NC requirements include a qualifying letter before day one, a TB test, and a physical. Pay starts at $17.00–$20.00 per hour, with benefits like health and dental insurance, PTO, sick pay, and opportunities for training and advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience in licensed childcare settings is preferred.
• Ability to obtain NC qualifying letter before first day.
• Strong communication and instructional skills.

Responsibilities

• Help lead teacher implement engaging lesson plans for 4–5 year olds.
• Use storytelling and educational play to teach children.
• Observe and support social development and self-esteem.
• Encourage interaction and help resolve conflicts.
• Guide children through a structured curriculum (shapes, numbers, colors, art).
• Track progress and share updates with parents via Tadpoles app.
• Communicate regularly with parents and collaborate with colleagues.
• Maintain clean, safe classroom aligned with health standards.
