Job summary

The Shiny Penny is seeking a dependable and energetic teacher for a 3-4 year-old classroom. You will facilitate engaging activities, supervise snack and outdoor play, and communicate with staff and families to support each child’s growth.

Requirements include background checks, health screening, being 18+, a high school diploma, and experience with young children. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) is expected, as is the ability to stand and participate with children

About This Role

We are seeking a dependable and energetic teacher for our 3-4 year-old classroom. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with young children. While a center setting is not required, it is preferred. Our teacher must be able to strike a perfect balance between fun and structure.

We offer hours of 2p --6:15p, Monday - Friday.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities include:

• Facilitating engaging learning activities for the children.
• Supervising snack time and outside play, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all.
• Effectively communicating with co-workers and parents.
• Light cleaning in the classroom at the end of the day.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for the children.

Requirements

• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening
• Minimum age: 18 yrs.
• Proof of high school completion
• Experience working with young children.
• Provide verifiable references.
• High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification, or the willingness to obtain the provided training.
• Non-smoker
• A strong understanding of child development and the willingness to complete required on-line training, at no cost.
• Requirements include the ability to stand on feet for a period of time, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
• High school diploma is required
