Essential Functions:

1. Manage classroom ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies, and procedures.
2. Create a welcoming and friendly environment for children, parents, and visitors.
3. Maintain attractive, current classroom and hallway displays, and an updated Parent Board.
4. Develop and implement age-appropriate, stimulating lesson plans aligned with weekly themes and curriculum; manage transitions effectively.
5. Supervise children during activities; use positive discipline techniques.
6. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the classroom environment.
7. Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including reports and attendance records.
8. Support and guide assistant teachers to ensure smooth classroom operation.
9. Communicate effectively with parents, addressing concerns, providing feedback, and updating on child development and classroom activities.
10. Identify opportunities and resolve issues in the classroom and school in collaboration with staff and director.

Qualifications

Physical Demands: The role requires bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and carrying frequently.

Education/Experience: Minimum of 90 clock hours in Child Development and Curriculum Planning, with at least 1 year of experience in a licensed preschool classroom. A BA in Early Childhood Education is preferred, or a BA in an unrelated field. MD State Credential Level 5 is required.
