Job summary

Derby Academy in Hingham, MA seeks enthusiastic candidate for the Per Diem PreKindergarten Instructional Assistant Teacher role. This full-time daily position runs August 24 to November 24, 2026, with hours 7:40 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday.

The role supports Lead Teachers in early literacy, math concepts, sensory- and play-based learning, and social-emotional growth. Daily duties include routines, transitions, supervision, and carpool support, fostering a warm, inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Experience in early childhood / PreK setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to diverse, equitable and inclusive environment.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and play-based learning.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teachers with early literacy, foundational math concepts, sensory- and play-based learning.
• Assist with classroom management, daily routines, and transitions.
• Provide playground and snack/dining supervision, carpool support.
• Support student well-being and social-emotional growth.
