Overview

Marcia Buker Elementary School is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic PreK Educational Technician. The Ed Tech will work under the direction of the classroom teacher to support young learners in a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate PreK environment following the PreK for ME curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the classroom teacher in implementing daily routines and learning activities.
  • Assist students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs using positive guidance techniques.
  • Supervise students in various settings and prepare materials for lessons and activities.
  • Provide individual or small group support during instructional times, including literacy and play-based activities.
  • Assist with self-care and personal needs as appropriate.
  • Communicate positively and professionally with students, staff, and families.
  • Follow safety procedures, classroom rules, and school protocols.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Ed Tech II or III certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience working with young children, preferably in a school or childcare setting.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a team-oriented approach.
  • Basic technology skills are a plus.
  • Ability to follow teacher guidance and contribute to a collaborative environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Comfortable sitting on the floor, kneeling, and moving quickly to support children.
