Job summary
Sandy Hill Elementary School in Cambridge, Maryland is seeking a PreK Instructional Assistant-HQ to join the instructional team and support students under the supervision of the principal and content supervisor. The role aims to help students meet Maryland College and Career Readiness Standards by providing strategies, resources, and targeted instruction.
The incumbent will support teachers with individual students and small groups, assist with classroom routines, and implement interventions.
Qualifications
- Candidate must meet MSDE standards with an Associate Degree, 48 college credits, or CDA certification.
- Experience in a classroom setting is preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
Responsibilities
- Supports teachers in working with individual students or small groups to boost academic and behavioral success.
- Assists with implementing curriculum-aligned activities and classroom routines.
- Reinforces material introduced by the teacher and monitors student progress.
- Provides instructional and behavioral supports and assists with safety and well-being.
- Runs interventions and supports targeted instruction as directed by the teacher.
- Participates in staff meetings and professional development activities.
