Preform Welder - Permanent Position

Heraeus, a global technology leader, is seeking a skilled Preform Welder to join our production team in Buford, GA. We create innovative solutions across industries such as Metals & Recycling, Healthcare, Semiconductor & Electronics, and Industrials. With approximately 16,400 employees worldwide, we are committed to shaping the future of technology and industry.

Position Details:

This role is available for 2nd shift (Monday-Friday, 2pm-10pm) or 3rd shift (Saturday-Tuesday, 10pm-6am).

Responsibilities:

1. Weld handles to quartz preforms by heating quartz on a lathe and butt welding the ends together.
2. Load preforms into the lathe, align, and heat to weld handles onto preforms.
3. Flame-tip preforms according to customer specifications.
4. Inspect handles for quality and size; perform stress tests on butted handles.
5. Manage preforms in annealing ovens and measure orientation.
6. Laser scribe handles as needed.
7. Cut, cone, and clean preforms.
8. Calculate weight, measure length, and record data in QDC/SAP systems.

Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Six months or more in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Prior welding experience is advantageous.
• Strong integrity and professionalism.
• Self-motivated, able to meet deadlines.
