Job description

Description

Responsible for coordinating the work of craft, subcontractors, and vendors within the pipe prefabrication shops. Develops and establishes relationships with prefabrication craft, management, and field operations project teams. Serves as liaison between piping and other prefabrication operations as well as field project teams to ensure efficiencies are in place for prefabrication and properly coordinated with the field.

  • Adhere to and ensure employees commit to the Company’s Zero Injury Process, including stretch and bend program and pre job and task planning, safety education, incident investigation, safety audits, substance abuse testing, incentive program and staffing for safety.

  • Manage craft and union supervision to ensure compliance and safety program is followed, corrective measures are taken when necessary, and mentorship is being conducted.

  • Review specifications to plan procedures to ensure completion times and staffing requirements for all prefabrication piping projects.

  • Responsible for proper documentation of work requirements, code compliance, and labor management.

  • Prepare and review reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.

  • Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to prefabrication and construction schedules.

  • Create procedures or methods for the collection of time and material used during preconstruction processes and supply information as required for updates to unit rates and production actuals back to management and the estimating department.

  • Access any prefabrication issues and work with the client or field personnel to resolve. Perform root cause analysis and put in place preventative measures to reduce repetitive issues.

  • Coordinate and manage shop building maintenance, including upkeep of shop equipment.

  • Oversee yard maintenance operations, ensuring the safe and efficient use of equipment, proper gravel upkeep, and timely snow plowing and removal

  • Foster positive union relationships including JAC (Joint Apprenticeship Committee) involvement.

  • Establish operating procedures and develop work schedules to reduce inefficiencies.

  • Actively promote and participate in the AZCO Production System.

  • Manage assigned prefabrication work with the work of different craft, company departments or subcontractors as required for multi-discipline prefabricated skids, modules, assemblies or other as required.

  • Manage procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.

  • Direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordination of prefabrication to prevent delays in field construction projects.

  • Work with supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors and tool and material suppliers to resolve prefabrication problems and improve prefabrication and construction methods.

  • Review schedules and manpower levels.

  • Responsible for the recruitment, development, training, and retention of staff.

  • Responsible for conducting performance evaluations for department staff.

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the department.

  • Responsible for interpreting the organization's policies, purposes, and goals to staff.

  • Responsible for overall QA/QC process adherence.

  • Enforce compliance with company and site safety policies.

  • Responsible for diversity initiatives.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED and 11 years in the construction industry with previous experience as a foreman and/or superintendent. Required or

  • Associate Degree in a related field and 9 years in the construction industry with previous experience as a foreman and/or superintendent. Required or

  • Bachelor Degree in a related field and 7 years in the construction industry with previous experience as a foreman and/or superintendent. Required

  • Must have thorough understanding of OSHA and the latest safety standards.

  • Previous work in one or more of the following areas: Power, Foundry, Food and Beverage, and Paper.

  • Heavy Industrial experience preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, project specifications and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Must be able to meet company's driving requirements.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

  • Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6 and Accounting software preferred.
