Job summary

Ohio Valley Electric Corporation – Kyger Creek site is seeking an Engineering Technician to work with Maintenance, Operations and support personnel on technical assignments to improve equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs using predictive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree or four years of related experience.
• Strong safety awareness and practices.
• Familiarity with engineering practices in a generating station.
• Ability to perform technical calculations and prepare reports.
• Ability to use engineering handbooks and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in routine testing of boilers, turbines, pumps and related equipment.
• Prepare detailed reports and statistics from assignments.
• Assist engineers with drawings, instructions and readings.
• Perform routine technical work on plant equipment following procedures.
• Support infrared scanning, vibration analysis and lubrication analysis.
• Coordinate preventive/predictive maintenance activities with other departments.
• Develop knowledge of PdM hardware/software and contribute to analyses.
