Job summary

Ohio Valley Electric Corporation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to perform high‑level electrical and mechanical maintenance at the Clifty Creek facility. The role includes supervision of peers and operation of machine shop equipment.

Responsibilities cover inspection, repair, alignment, and installation of power plant equipment, with responsibilities across electrical, mechanical, welding, and safety compliance to support plant reliability.

Qualifications

Must pass an exam and job demonstrations if required.
Combination of education and/or experience to perform duties and to advance in the line of promotion.
Must qualify in maintenance specialties: electrical, welding, machinist and/or mechanical; partially qualify in others.

Responsibilities

Inspect, repair and maintain electrical equipment including transformers, breakers, motors.
Disassemble, repair and align prime movers, generators, pumps, and related machinery; perform piping, valve work and rigging as needed.
Operate and care for machine shop equipment (lathes, shapers, drills, mills, grinders) for fabrication and repair of components.
Weld (arc and oxyacetylene) high‑pressure/high‑temperature piping and alloys; brazing and related metalworking.
Assist in training and supervise employees as assigned; ensure safety and compliance with procedures.
Maintain clean work areas; comply with federal/state safety laws and company rules.
