Job summary

Ohio Valley Electric Corporation's Clifty Creek plant seeks an Engineering Technician to support Maintenance and Operations by applying predictive maintenance techniques to inspect, test, analyze and report on the operation of plant equipment, including boilers, turbines and pumps.

The successful candidate will generate detailed reports, coordinate preventive and predictive work with other departments, maintain condition-based databases, and assist engineers with instrument readings, drawings

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree in electronics or engineering technology, or four years of related experience.
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to procedures.
• Basic knowledge of engineering practices in an electric generating environment.
• Ability to perform calculations and prepare reports.
• Ability to read engineering manuals and drawings.
• Pass a qualifying examination if required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine testing of boilers, turbines, pumps and related equipment.
• Prepare detailed reports and compile statistics on equipment performance.
• Assist engineers with drawings, instructions and instrument readings.
• Conduct infrared, vibration and lubrication analyses.
• Coordinate preventive/predictive maintenance with plant departments.
