Job summary

Huber Engineered Woods is seeking a Predictive Maintenance Technician to perform PdM and condition monitoring of mill rotating equipment using vibration, infrared, and ultrasound technologies. Build inspection routes, analyze data, and support repairs to minimize downtime and equipment failures.

You will report findings, maintain PdM history, and generate timely reports for planning. A high school diploma, 3–5 years’ experience, and vibration certification within a year are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years’ experience preferred.
• Computer Skilled – Word, Excel, Internet, Outlook, and CMMS.
• Able to learn new technologies.
• Required to obtain level 1 vibration certification within the first year.
• Attend yearly training for certifications.
• Basic math skills & statistical analysis.
• Willing to work overtime as required.
• Work with maintenance mechanics on shutdowns.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain inspection routes using vibration collection and analysis equipment for mill areas.
• Analyze data to assess machine condition and coordinate with 3rd party monitoring.
• Prepare weekly/monthly condition reports for maintenance planning.
• Report findings to Maintenance Crew leaders.
• Predict risk of failure and maintain PdM history.
• Write work orders for equipment failures promptly.
• Enter equipment specs in vibration software; liaise with bearing data suppliers.
• Support Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) as required.
• Contribute to environmental, health, and safety compliance.

Predictive Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

Perform Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and condition monitoring of mill rotating equipment (Vibration data collection, Infrared inspection, and Ultrasound technologies). Provide necessary information in a timely manner for others to plan & schedule repairs that will minimize unscheduled downtime, catastrophic equipment failure, and energy loss. Be able to support findings through RCFA studies to eliminate repeat failures.

• Build and maintain inspection routes using vibration collection and analyzation equipment for each area of the mill.
• Analyze data on all equipment to assess machine condition and work with 3rd party resource on continuous monitoring system.
• Reporting:
• Distribute summary on regular basis (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.) as needed. Equipment, action, and timing for repair in each mill area.
• Report to Maintenance Crew leaders the findings.
• Predict risk(s) of failure.
• Maintain PdM history for all equipment, back up data.
• Write WOs for equipment failures in a timely manner.
• Enter equipment specs, speeds, bearing sizes etc. in the vibration software. Work with bearing supplier & equipment manufacturers to obtain necessary bearing data and failure assistance.
• Perform and/or assist with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) as Required – PT, MT, UT
• Help develop lubrication routes and maintain lube database.
• Re-adjust equipment alarms based upon historical data and equipment criticality.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and corporate environmental and safety regulations, and permit issues (air, water, etc.). Ensure that proper documentation is completed for any safety or environmental required monitoring in your area of responsibility. Report inconsistencies as appropriate.
• Attend all federal, state, and company mandated training, read and comply with job Hazard or Safety Analysis (JHA or JSA) information that applies to area in which you work, wear appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) while on the job, and report/or correct any unsafe condition that you may observe. Report all injuries to your supervisor.
• Be aware of and know how to access the JM Huber EHS Policy, the Minimum Mandatory Standards and Requirements (MMSRs) and HEW Environmental, Health, and Safety Management System (EHSMS) procedures. Comply with MMSRs and HEW EHSMS procedures and report all non-conformances to your supervisor or manager.
• Incorporate environmental, health, and safety requirements into every day decision making.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years’ experience preferred.
