Aurora Contractors is seeking a Preconstruction Project Manager to drive schedule, logistics, permitting, and procurement for complex projects. You will coordinate with utilities, manage permits, and support master contracts while mentoring junior staff.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in preconstruction, strong cost estimation and negotiation skills, and deep knowledge of local codes. Regular office presence with project team collaboration is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, procurement, or project management within the construction industry.
  • Experience with cost estimation, bid management, contract negotiation, and value engineering.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, permitting processes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven track record in coordinating with design teams, trade contractors, and utility providers during preconstruction phases.
  • Managerial experience preferred.

Job description

The Preconstruction Project Manager is responsible for the success of the schedule, logistics, utilities, permitting, and other key elements for each project they manage. They collaborate on planning and activities to keep both Aurora and the clients informed of project progress.

Salary $115,000.00 to $175,000.00

Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience and qualifications. Ranges and rates may take into consideration benefits, bonuses, and other factors.

Essential Functions
  • Manage bid and project schedules, logistics plans, and integrate safety measures.
  • Coordinate with local utilities to identify necessary connections.

Day in the Life

A typical day could be working at Aurora’s main office, reviewing project designs, engaging trade contractors proposing on our projects along with creating scopes and estimates. A typical day will also include attending project team meetings with coworkers, clients and the design team explaining the cost and constructability implications of the project.

  • Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Full Time, Exempt:

Monday – Friday 8-5pm(Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand)
