F.A. Wilhelm Construction in Indianapolis is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to guide the early phases of projects from inception through turnover.

You will lead the estimating team, develop cost models, and prepare bid packages while coordinating with owners, engineers, and subcontractors. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, at least 5 years in construction, and a track record of collaboration, integrity, and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to the estimating team to assemble estimates, ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Create and analyze cost models/forecasts during design development or bidding, advise client and team.
• Prepare bid packages, obtain and assess bids from subcontractors and vendors.
• Coordinate preconstruction materials for owner/engineer presentations – design development estimates, GMP booklets, etc.
• Lead preparation and review of trade contracts, subcontracts, and major purchase orders, ensuring compliance.
• Coordinate transition from preconstruction to field operations and compare estimates to actual status.
