Job summary

Lane Construction seeks a senior project leader in Central Florida to deliver Alternative Delivery pursuits and projects (Design Build, CM/GC, Progressive Design Build) with full ownership of proposals, budgets, risk, and scheduling.

Based in the Central Florida region with 25-35% travel, you will lead constructability reviews, drive value engineering, manage client relationships, coordinate with vendors and subcontractors, and oversee contract documents from RFQs to awards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• PE experience preferred.
• 10 years of experience in alternative delivery projects.

Position to be based in Central Florida area in support of projects primarily in Central Florida region, with approximately 25-35% travel.

Responsibilities:

• Leads the delivery and execution of Alternative Delivery pursuits and projects (Design Build, CM/GC, Progressive Design Build), with full ownership of proposal compliance, design deliverables, pre construction budgets, risk development, and coordination of estimating and scheduling activities.
• Facilitates and leads constructability reviews throughout pursuit and post award pre construction phases, ensuring designs are practical, cost effective, schedule driven, and aligned with construction means and methods.
• Drives value engineering efforts, including planning, facilitation, documentation, and implementation of value engineering workshops to optimize project cost, schedule, quality, and risk without compromising performance or client objectives.
• Provides oversight and assistance when needed for traditional design bid build projects.
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients while supporting Procurement with vendors, subconsultants, and subcontractors.
• Serves as the primary client point of contact for all RFQs, RFPs, RFIs, and contract documents.
• Manages and participates in meetings with owners, developers, subcontractors, subconsultants, and other stakeholders.
• Develops pursuit strategy, including resource planning, budgeting, technical approach, and requirements to propose, win, and successfully deliver constructable projects.
• Leads development and submission of competitive technical and price proposals, ensuring cost competitiveness, constructability, risk alignment, and targeted profit margins.
• Manages review and execution of project contracts with clients, design partners, JV partners, and subcontractors alongside internal departments.
• Supports opportunity identification, validation, and internal go/no go decisions for Alternative Delivery pursuits.
• Oversees project risk development and mitigation strategies, with specific emphasis on design, constructability, commercial, and execution risks.
• Coordinates with internal departments, designers, JV partners, concessionaires, and project developers to clearly define scope, cost, and schedule.
• Leads post award pre construction activities, including full design management (compliance, schedule, budget, growth), ongoing constructability assessments, coordination of ROW and permitting, and transition planning into construction.
• Requires approximately 25%—35% travel.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
• 10 years of experience in alternative delivery projects with increasing responsibility
