Job summary

Touro University is seeking a Preclinical Education faculty member for the Dental Medicine program in New York. The role reports to the Course Director and oversees preclinical teaching across Basic Sciences and dental courses.

Responsibilities include lecturing, creating presentations, lab supervision in Sim Lab, and coordinating assessments while adhering to syllabi and calibration materials. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) required.
• CPR Certification preferred.
• Dental license registration preferred.
• DEA number preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend all lectures and lab sessions on time and prepared.
• Make lectures and presentations as requested by the Course Director.
• Abide by all course syllabi and calibration materials.
• Make entries in the Canvas Learning System.
• Supervise and assist students in Sim Lab with all exercises.
• Notify Course Director of any student difficulties with material.
• Assist in administering quizzes, exams, and lab summative exams.
• Assist in grading summative exams as needed.
• Follow safety protocols in Sim Lab and Incident forms.

Overview

The Preclinical Education component is divided into the teaching of the Basic Sciences and the teaching of the Preclinical Education dental courses. This position directly reports to their Course Director at the Touro College of Dental Medicine and indirectly to the Director of Preclinical Education, Preclinical Faculty.

Responsibilities

• Attend all lectures and lab sessions on time and prepared.


• Make lectures and presentations as requested by the Course Director.


• Are familiar with and abide by all course syllabi and course calibration materials.


• Make entries as needed into the Canvas Learning System.


• Supervise and assist students in Sim Lab with all exercises.


• Notify Course Director of any student(s) having difficulty with course material.


• Assist in administering all quizzes, exams, and lab summative exams.


• Assist in grading summative exams as needed.


• Are aware of all safety protocols in Sim Lab and Incident Form entries as needed.


• Participate in one-on‑one meetings with students as needed by Course Director.


• Participate in committee meetings as assigned.


• Participate in university, school and other meetings as scheduled.


• Pursue other academic activities as time permits outside of course schedule.

Education/Experience

Qualifications

Maximum Salary

USD $140,000.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary

USD $112,000.00/Yr.
