Job summary

Modineer Company is seeking a Machine Operator in South Bend, IN. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and is a full-time direct labor position with a Mon-Thu 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM schedule; overtime as needed.

The ideal candidate will operate welding equipment, perform minor maintenance, and ensure product quality while maintaining a clean, organized work area. Prior teamwork, discretion, and initiative are valued traits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operates welding machines
• Operates resistance welders
• Operates rollers
• Operates high pressure testers
• Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template
• Positions work piece against stops or guides
• Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine
• Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction
• Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation
• Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces
• Uses air drills and wire brushes to clean final product
• Packages final product
• Performs housekeeping tasks keeping work areas clean
