Job summary

Patz Corporation in Wisconsin is seeking a Welding Jig and Fixtures Technician responsible for reading blueprints and weld symbols, building jigs and fixtures from prints, and using machine tools and precision measuring devices to meet specifications.

You will maintain, repair, adjust or replace tooling, update records, ensure OSHA-compliant designs, assist welders with setup, inspect jigs, and keep the work area clean and orderly, contributing to on-time production.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints, understand weld symbols and drawings.
• Perform shop mathematics and use precision measuring devices.
• Able to work from detailed instructions and pass a basic weld test.

Responsibilities

• Construct welding jigs and fixtures from prints and instructions.
• Determine material requirements and requisition material as required.
• Maintain, repair, adjust or replace tooling for fixtures.
• Maintain records of jigs/fixtures locations, costs and activities.
• Ensure OSHA-compliant designs and ergonomic/production standards.
• Assist welders with setup and troubleshoot die/jig problems.
• Inspect jigs/fixtures for damage and wear before use and after production.
• Check machine tools for proper operation and report malfunctions.
• Keep the work area clean and orderly.
