Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Columbus, Nebraska is seeking a skilled Welder to join our manufacturing team. You will weld metal components and fabricate or repair products according to blueprints and work orders, using brazing and arc/gas welding equipment.

You will read blueprints, lay out parts, weld structural components for substations and poles, adjust equipment, and handle material movement with care. Safety and teamwork are essential to success at Valmont.

Qualifications

• Weld experience required, MIG welding preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Able to excel in a team environment.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate with coworkers positively.
• Able to work in a high volume, fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Work from blueprints and layouts to fit structural parts for welding.
• Lay out guidelines on metal parts and cut with a torch.
• Weld structural components for steel poles, substations and other structures.
• Adjust welding equipment settings to prescribed levels.
• Move pole shafts using an overhead crane and gather materials.
• Wear all mandatory PPE and follow safety policies.
• Perform other duties as directed by leadership.
• Actively participate in department safety and practices.
