Job summary

L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our Norfolk VA team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding, and capable of reading tight tolerance drawings.

You will also fixturе parts and perform setup using precision welding tables, with occasional assembly work. Essential functions include welding, fabrication, blueprint interpretation, fixturing, and collaboration with other departments.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or trade school certifications in welding.
• Ability to pass a 3G plate test in all positions for aluminum, steel, and stainless steel.
• Strong proficiency in TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Welding: Perform TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel.
• Fabrication: Fabricate structures and machined components per specifications.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read tight tolerance drawings for accurate fabrication and assembly.
• Fixturing and Setup: Use precision welding tables and fixturing to set up parts for welding.
• Assembly Work: Perform assembly tasks as needed in addition to welding duties.
• Team Collaboration: Work with other departments to meet project goals.
• Quality Standards: Maintain workmanship to military standards.
