Job summary

SpaceGuard Products Inc. is seeking a Welder in Seymour, IN to fabricate, assemble and weld metal components for wire mesh partitions, guards, enclosures, and storage systems.

You will read orders and drawings, operate welding equipment, and ensure quality while supporting a safety-focused production environment. The ideal candidate has welding experience, can read tape measures and drawings, and demonstrates strong attention to detail and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous hand welding experience preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Ability to read and understand production documents, drawings, and work instructions.
• Basic math skills, including fractions and measurements.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Weld steel components according to specifications and quality standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, drawings, and production schedules.
• Assemble and fit parts prior to welding.
• Operate welding equipment, grinders, saws, and other fabrication tools safely and effectively.
• Inspect completed welds and manufactured components for quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Maintain productivity while producing quality workmanship.
• Follow established safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Identify and report equipment issues, material shortages, quality concerns, and safety hazards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with material handling and movement of components throughout the production process.
• Participate in cross-training and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support team members and assist in other production areas as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
