Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Sets up electrode wire per procedure to prepare welding equipment for operation.
• Positions and clamps work pieces together or in a jig or fixture.
• Strikes arc and guides electrode or gun to form specified bead depth.
• Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Cleans or degreases weld joint using power equipment.
• Runs spot welder and ensures correct tips are used.
• Ensures spot welder tacks are secure without dimpling opposite surface.
• Follows safety rules and maintains a clean work area.
• Uses side grinder to clean up grinding splatter and ensure quality surfaces.
