Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a Warehouse Picker in Abilene, KS. You will receive, store, distribute and route parts and products throughout the facility, providing technical leadership to Manufacturing Engineering teams across Abilene locations and Kipp.

The role requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to operate pallet jacks and hand trucks while maintaining safety and 5S standards in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to safely use hand and power tools; read blueprints and tape measure.

• Basic computer skills helpful.
• Ability to follow OSHA safety regulations and wear PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Sort and place materials on racks according to predetermined sequences.
• Retrieve parts from storage based on production needs.
• Pick orders accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain inventory records to prevent discrepancies.
• Assist in regular inventory counts and audits.
• Inspect parts for damage and report defects.
• Distribute picked items to production areas and protect them from damage.
• Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jack or hand truck.
• Ensure equipment is checked and report malfunctions.
• Communicate with team and other departments to coordinate order fulfillment.
• Keep work areas clean and organized to promote safety and efficiency.
• Ensure storage areas are labeled and accessible.
