Job summary

EMIT Technologies, Inc. seeks a Voortman Saw Operator to safely run the automated line, ensuring beams and components are cut with precision to meet schedules and downstream needs. You will read blueprints, verify dimensions, and maintain material flow while safeguarding equipment performance and quality.

You will monitor throughput and quality metrics, collaborate with maintenance for issues, and participate in TPM initiatives. A strong attention to detail and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, cut lists and work orders.
• Use calipers, tape measures and gauges to verify dimensions.
• Familiar with ERP/MRP systems such as OSEON.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Voortman saw line to meet daily/weekly production schedules.
• Read blueprints, cut lists, work orders, and production documentation accurately.
• Verify first-piece dimensions using measuring devices before processing production quantities.
• Monitor throughput, feet cut, part accuracy, rework, scrap, and downtime.
• Ensure materials are processed in the correct sequence for downstream operations.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and readiness; report issues before impact on production.
• Communicate completed work, delays, shortages, and production concerns to Leads and Supervisors.
• Cross-train on adjacent equipment to improve flexibility and productivity.
• Assist in training new operators and share best practices.
• Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout, and 6S standards.
