Responsibilities

• Prepare subfloors by cleaning, leveling, patching, grinding, or removing existing flooring.
• Measure and mark surfaces to ensure accurate tile layout and alignment.
• Cut, place, and secure vinyl composition tiles using appropriate adhesives.
• Roll installed tiles to ensure proper adhesion and eliminate air pockets.
• Install transitions, base molding, and floor accessories as required.
• Perform stripping, sealing, and waxing of VCT flooring.
• Follow blueprints, layout plans, and work orders.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe condition.
• Adhere to safety procedures, OSHA standards, and company policies.
• Repair or replace damaged VCT tiles when necessary.

Skills

Experience installing VCT or other resilient flooring materials

Knowledge of adhesives, subfloor preparation, and floor finishing products

Ability to read measurements, drawings, and layout plans

Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship

Physical ability to lift heavy materials, kneel, bend, and stand for long periods

Familiarity with safety regulations and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites
