Job summary

Matthews Memorialization, a Matthews International company, is seeking a Vault Assembly Operator in California. The role involves operating forklift, cement mixer and related equipment to assemble cement burial vaults and cremation vaults.

You will maintain vault forms, perform form breakdowns, and ensure a safe, clean workspace in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has 6+ months of machine operation experience, basic MS Office proficiency, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 6+ months of machine operation experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Outlook, & Internet applications.
• Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, budgeting, project management, & planning skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools, power tools, forklifts, welding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, cement mixer and rebar cutter.
• Use the spray machine.
• Assemble vault forms and stainless steel/copper vaults; make cremation vaults.
• Break down and reassemble vault forms.
• Clean forms and remove concrete from floors.
• Maintain knowledge of vault forms and duties.
• Repair cement mixer belt and other machines as needed.
• Washes and sweeps vault making area and equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
