Job summary

LineQuest LLC in Wisconsin is seeking a detail-oriented Locator to join our team. The Locate Technician will identify and mark underground utilities to support safe excavation and construction, requiring accuracy, reliability, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

You will interpret maps and blueprints, coordinate with contractors and utility companies, maintain records, and ensure compliance with safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
• Previous experience in utility locating, construction, or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with underground utility systems and locating equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark underground utilities using specialized equipment.
• Interpret maps, blueprints, and technical drawings to identify locations.
• Communicate with contractors and utility companies to coordinate locating activities.
• Maintain accurate records and provide detailed reports.
• Ensure safety compliance and wear PPE at all times.
• Perform maintenance and calibration of locating equipment.
• Respond to locate requests and complete assignments on time.
