Job summary

Compacting Tooling Inc in McKeesport, PA is seeking a skilled Toolmaker/Manual Machinist to join our precision tooling team. This hands-on role focuses on setup, operation, and maintenance of small to mid-size tooling components in a shop setting.

You will read blueprints, GD&T, and engineering specs, fabricate and repair dies, fixtures, and gauges, and collaborate with engineering to meet tight tolerances and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as Toolmaker or Manual Machinist in precision manufacturing.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Operate lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses safely.
• Commitment to tight tolerances and high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses
• Fabricate, repair, and maintain tooling, dies, fixtures, and gauges to tight tolerances
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and recommend design or process improvements
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with shop standards
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet manufacturing requirements
