Job summary

Markent Personnel is seeking an experienced Toolmaker for a Hastings, Michigan-based manufacturing facility. You will build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling including dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and production tooling in a modern Tool Room environment.

The ideal candidate has a tool & die apprenticeship or 4+ years of Toolmaker experience, reads engineering drawings, operates mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and CNC Tool Room equipment, and shows strong problem-solving

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with relevant industrial experience.
• Completion of Tool & Die or Toolmaker Apprenticeship with 4+ years experience, or 8+ years progressive Toolmaker experience.
• Experience reading drawings, blueprints, CAD prints, and technical docs.
• Experience building and repairing production dies, fixtures, molds, and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling for high-volume manufacturing.
• Interpret drawings/blueprints/CAD prints to determine machining methods.
• Plan and perform precision machining, bench work, fitting, assembly, and finishing.
• Set up and operate mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and CNC Tool Room equipment.
• Inspect tooling to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Diagnose tooling failures and implement repairs to minimise downtime.
• Maintain clean, safe Tool Room and support continuous improvement initiatives.
