Silgan Containers in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Tool and Die Maker – Manual Machinist to manufacture, repair, and refurbish dies, tooling, and components used in high-speed can production.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Trade school/technical machining education preferred.
• 2+ years in tool and die making or manual machining.
• Experience reading blueprints and precision drawings.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, repair, modify, refurbish dies, tooling, fixtures and components for high-speed can-making machinery.
• Operate manual machining equipment and measure parts to tight tolerances.
• Read blueprints and work instructions to set up machines and produce accurate tooling.
• Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Troubleshoot and repair gearboxes, pumps, and production equipment.
• Perform welding, plasma cutting, and fabrication as needed.
